The Whittier Athletic Department is proud to announce the addition of Alexis Pettway as the Poets' new Head Athletic Trainer.
"We are delighted to welcome Alexis Pettway to Whittier College as our new head athletic trainer," said Rock Carter, Executive Director of Athletics. "With Alexis' extensive background she will be a great asset to our team and the health of our student-athletes will be her top priority."
Prior to joining the Poets Alexis worked at a number of different levels within Sports Medicine and Athlete Wellness. She was recently a manager for Amazon as an Injury Prevention Specialist, served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Great Oak High School and was part-time at Jurupa Hills High School.
Over the past couple of years she has also served in a part-time role within the Whittier College Sports Medicine Department. In her new role, Alexis will oversee and coordinate medical coverage and injury rehabilitation for the college's 22 varsity sports, while managing two full-time athletic trainers, graduate interns and work-study students.
Alexis graduated from Cal Baptist University with a B.A. in Health and Exercise Science (2004) and then returned in 2010 to earn her M.S. in Athletic Training.
