Meet Maria Ramirez - Redlands Cross Country and Track & Field

Maria Ramiez is a four-year contributor to the women's cross country and track and field teams. She finished 85th at the 2019 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships. Ramirez finishes her cross country career as Redlands record holder in the 6-kilometer and the 5-kilometer and was a three-time national qualifier and four-time first-team All-SCIAC honoree.

Not only does Ramirez run cross country, she also has been the cross country office assistant for the last three years. Her favorite part is learning more about the recruiting process.

Ramirez is double majoring in English and Liberal Studies with plans of going to grad school at Redlands to pursue a Masters in Education, receiving her teaching credential in hopes of one day becoming a teacher. Last year, she spent time at a local elementary school, assisting the instructor and helping children with reading comprehension and homework.

Finally, Ramirez is in a service fraternity on campus called Alpha Phi Omega, which promotes leadership, friendship, and giving back.
